Cookie Policy
Governing cookies and tracking technologies on wherezit.co.za
Effective Date: 19 April 2026
Manage your preferences
Toggle analytics and marketing cookies on or off at any time. Strictly necessary cookies are always on because the site cannot function without them.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function correctly, remember your preferences and provide the site owner with information about how the site is used. References to ‘cookies’ in this policy include similar technologies such as web beacons, pixel tags and local storage.
2. Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies — Cannot Be Disabled
- Session cookie — maintains your logged-in session while you use the platform. Deleted when you close your browser unless you are logged in.
- CSRF protection cookie — a security token that prevents cross-site request forgery attacks on your account
- Cookie consent cookie — stores your cookie preferences so the consent banner is not shown on every visit
2.2 Functional Cookies
- Preference cookies — remember your display settings and personalisation choices
2.3 Analytics Cookies
- Platform usage analytics — collects anonymous, aggregated data about pages visited, time on page and navigation patterns. No personally identifiable information is included.
2.4 Third Party Cookies
PayFast and Yoco may each set cookies on your device in connection with payment processing. These cookies are governed by their own cookie and privacy policies. WhereZit does not control these third party cookies.
3. Managing Cookies
You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Most modern browsers allow you to view, delete and block cookies. If you disable strictly necessary cookies (Section 2.1) the platform will not function correctly — you will be unable to log in, submit entries or process payments.
4. Cookie Consent
A cookie consent banner is displayed on your first visit to wherezit.co.za. You may accept all cookies or manage your preferences by category. Your choice is stored in a consent cookie. You may update your preferences at any time by clicking ‘Cookie Settings’ in the website footer.
