How the skill-based judging works
WhereZit is designed and operated as a skill-based competition platform. Outcomes depend on judged skill methodology and participant judgement and spatial reasoning β not a random draw.
- Participant submits a coordinate prediction on the competition image.
- Entries are sealed during the active competition period using cryptographic hashing.
- Independent judges submit their own coordinates after the competition closes.
- The platform calculates a consensus coordinate from the judges' submissions.
- The closest valid paid participant prediction to the consensus coordinate is identified for each prize according to the published rules.
- Result verification data is published after the competition is completed and certified.
Skill factors judges and participants apply
- β’Visual trajectory and ball path estimation
- β’Player body positioning relative to the scene
- β’Angle and depth estimation from a single frame
- β’Sporting context and plausible play geometry
- β’Spatial reasoning on a fixed image coordinate system
- β’Consistent judgement applied before entries are unsealed
Independent judges
Independent judges are appointed based on relevant sporting or analytical expertise, absence of material conflicts with the beneficiary organisation or major entrants, and capacity to apply consistent spatial judgement to the competition image.
Rules of Play
This is a skill-based competition. The winner is determined entirely by skill β specifically by which player's submitted coordinate is mathematically closest to the consensus coordinate calculated from independent judges' submissions after the competition closes.
Player coordinates are cryptographically hashed on submission. Neither WhereZit nor the organiser can view any player's coordinate during the active competition window.
Judges submit independently after the competition closes. All appointed judges must submit before results are calculated. The full verification dataset is published with every result.
Entrants must be 18 years or older and resident in South Africa. See the full Player Terms and Conditions for details.

- Register at wherezit.co.za/register if you do not already have an account.

6. Entry Integrity
- Your coordinate is cryptographically hashed when your entry is recorded at payment β neither WhereZit nor the organiser can view your raw position during the active competition window in the ordinary course.
- Judges submit only after the competition closes β they do not have access to player entry coordinates beforehand.
- All appointed judges must submit before results are calculated.
- The reference position is derived from the judgesβ submissions using the platformβs published mathematical method.
- Verification data is published with the result in line with WhereZitβs transparency rules.
7. Judging Panel
Judges will be appointed before the competition goes live.
8. How the Winner is Determined
After close, each judge independently submits a coordinate. The platform calculates the consensus position (arithmetic mean of the judgesβ coordinates). Among all paid entry lines listed in Section 4, the single paid entry whose prediction is closest to the consensus (smallest Euclidean distance) is the overall winner for this competition and wins the prize line that entry was purchased for. Other prize titles shown in Section 4 do not necessarily award a separate winner unless the organiser has configured a different published format. Ties on distance: earlier submission prevails.
9. Nature of This Competition
This is a skill-based competition. It is not a lottery, raffle, sweepstake or gambling product. The outcome is determined by reference to skill-based predictions versus an independent consensus β not by chance.
10. Refund Policy
Entry fees for confirmed paid lines are non-refundable once payment has successfully completed, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
11. Age Restriction
Open only to persons 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
12. Results and Verification
Results will be published on this competition page after close and once judge submissions and certification steps are complete (typically within 48 hours of close, subject to attorney workflow).
13. Governing Law
These Competition Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pretoria. Support: support@wherezit.co.za | Legal: legal@wherezit.co.za
